Ignite Your Torch: The
Mission of Ignite Your Torch is to ignite the faith of high school age Catholic
youth so that they may live completely for Christ and together conquer the world
for Christ. Ignite Your Torch is Eucharistically-centered, devoted to Our Blessed
Mother, and catechetical in nature, and aims to build up the culture of life,
foster vocations, and provide fellowship among Catholic youth.
The Angelic Warfare Confraternity: is an official association of the Dominican Order dedicated to the preservation
of chastity and the pursuit of truth under the patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas.
It finds its inspiration in Thomas' victory in his battle against sexual
temptation as a teenager in the prison tower, and his being girded by the angels
with the cord of chastity.
Dominican Friars: Rev. Benedict Croell OP is the vocations director for the Dominican Friars. The friars are members of the Order of Preachers, AKA "The Dominicans" and we are members of the Eastern Dominican Province. There are many provinces throughout the world, which together comprise the Order. The Order of Preachers was founded in 1216 by St. Dominic de Guzman in response to a then desperate need for informed preaching. Against a heresy which denied the dignity of our humanity, St. Dominic trained a group of preachers who would serve the Church in its affirmation of the world as the place where Christ is discovered. |
